Before I Die
We first heard about Candy Chang’s Before I Die project back in January. The artist and graphic designer turned a crumbling house in New Orleans into a giant chalkboard and stenciled on the sentence: “Before I die I want to ______.” Giving people a place to record their aspirations and connect with each other struck a nerve—the wall was completely filled in one day.
Similar chalkboards are being installed all over the world. Now, thanks to local designer Dana Ramler, Vancouver has one too. Ramler set up a board in an alley between Keefer and East Georgia—stop by, jot down a dream, and see what your neighbours are saying.
