Citizen City: Guest Lecture at University of Manitoba
On the heels of his recent lecture at the National Gallery of Canada (part of the Carleton University Forum Lecture Series), our firm’s Managing Partner, Gregory Henriquez, will deliver a guest lecture at the University of Manitoba on the topic of ‘Citizen City’.
In his lecture, Gregory will discuss the important role that architects can and should play as agents of positive social change. Sharing the successes and challenges of several Vancouver projects, he will also illustrate the immense potential of cross-sector partnerships among private developers, nonprofits and various levels of government to harness a portion of the wealth created in real estate development to achieve socially valuable goals.
The hope is that lessons learned and shared will contribute to the creation of more vibrant, just, community-oriented cities.
Catch Gregory’s lecture on Monday, November 17 at 6 p.m. in the Centre Space room, John A. Russell Building, 84 Curry Place, University of Manitoba Fort Garry Campus.
