Woodward’s a Role Model for Inclusive Development
In the French documentary series Ports d’attache, photographer Heidi Hollinger visits waterfront cities around the world and talks to local leaders in art, design, and innovation about what makes the metropolis tick. In the latest episode, Hollinger comes to Vancouver and delves into the city’s unique history and housing challenges. She visits the Woodward’s Redevelopment, where she and architect Gregory Henriquez discuss the genesis of the project and how its mix of market and non-market housing, public space, retail, and a university art campus in the city’s Downtown Eastside make it a role model for inclusive development.
You can watch the episode at TV5—and take a tour of the Woodward’s Redevelopment (in English!) with Gregory Henriquez and Heidi Hollinger at 24:25.
