Feeding the Community
Woodward’s Pancake Breakfast
One thousand people enjoyed a free meal over the weekend at the second annual Woodward’s Pancake Breakfast. The Woodward’s Atrium was transformed into a dining room and people from the local community—including residents of Woodward’s and the Downtown Eastside at large—tucked into over 3,000 pancakes, 1,100 cups of coffee, 1,000 yoghurts, 1,000 oranges, and 30 litres of syrup. The Woodward’s Community Tables initiative, which also sees traditional meals served at Thanksgiving and Christmas, was started as a way to give back to the community.
A big thanks to all the volunteers, and to Nesters Market and JJ Bean for generously donating food and coffee!
