Ice Cube Celebrates the Eames

Take a tour of the iconic Eames House in the Pacific Palisades neighbourhood of L.A. with Ice Cube as your enthusiastic guide. The rapper—who studied architectural drafting before he became a superstar—walks through the house offering his profound and thoughtful commentary as a promotional video for Pacific Standard Time: Art in L.A. 1945–1980, the Getty’s huge initiative celebrating the birth of the city’s art scene. Saying “in a world full of McMansions where the structure takes up all the land, the Eameses made structure and nature one,” Ice Cube talks about the couple’s resourceful and creativity. He even credits them with doing “mash-ups before they were mash-ups.”
