Laboratory of Housing Alternatives

Vancouver’s affordability challenges are shaping the evolution of the city. With the most expensive housing market in the country and a tight rental market, young professionals and families are leaving in record in numbers. In order to maintain a vital and creative city, it’s crucial to develop new and innovative housing options.

How can Vancouver better meet the needs of a broad cross section of people?

The Laboratory of Housing Alternatives is a new initiative aiming to take action in providing affordable alternatives for young, creative, and emerging professionals. The focus will be to come up affordable solutions for “a new generation that live and work in different ways.”

The laboratory kicks off this Thursday, November 22 at the Hive (128 West Hastings Street) with a collective visioning workshop from 6 pm to 9:30 pm.
