Re:THINK Housing is an open ideas competition launched by the Mayor’s Task Force on Housing Affordability. It’s designed to tap into the creativity of a broad base of people and come up with some innovative ideas for dealing with Vancouver’s affordability crisis.
The 67 submissions, which range from large-scale developments to smaller neighbourhood options, run the gamut of possibilities. One envisions an aquatic housing development off the old Expo land, while another proposes a vertical farm with residential accommodation that integrates food and energy production. You can see the submissions on display at the Roundhouse Community Centre until next week. You can also check them out online and cast your vote for the People’s Choice winner.
Congratulations to all the entrants–and good luck to everyone from the team at Henriquez Partners Architects who submitted ideas!
