Lynn Valley Town Centre & Library
The Lynn Valley Town Centre and Library establishes a civic core in the community of Lynn Valley. It consists of a central library and a mix of retail, services, restaurants, and offices surrounding a public plaza. Animated by the café and restaurants that surround it, the south-facing plaza acts as a stage for a broad spectrum of community events. The pedestrian-oriented building’s use of stained wood, cedar, and copper draw their inspiration from North Vancouver’s natural and industrial history.
Henriquez Partners Architects views this major community development as a catalyst to develop a stronger sense of identity for the areas of Lynn Valley and the District of North Vancouver. Coupling sustainability with a purposeful effort to humanize the environment in and around the building establishes a unique town centre that resonates with its surroundings. The project achieved LEED Silver certification.
