We are looking for Intermediate and Senior level Interior Design team members with a minimum of 5 years experience to join our team. This role will enable you to participate in designing exciting and inspirational environments for a wide variety of building types including multi-family residential, commercial office / retail and institutional projects.
Responsibilities Include
- Participate in an integrated design team to achieve design concepts with minimal direction
- Support the Interior Design Associate and Architectural Project Managers on interior design scope
- Prepare and co-ordinate project schematic / conceptual design drawings or sketches, including material boards, to convey design intent
- Prepare working drawing contract documents, plans, details and schedules, using various software
- Coordinate construction documents with design team, including consultants and vendors
- Co-ordinate and / or undertake the selection and specification of FF & E and other elements
- Possess in-depth product knowledge of building materials and finishes
- Undertake the development of technical / design solutions
- Attend on-site visits and field reviews and direct contractors and vendors as required, including coordination and / or undertaking of site deficiency review and installation inspections
- Coordinate and / or undertake the preparation of required project documents, minutes, schedules and specifications, under direction
- Assist with establishing and maintaining project budgeting and scheduling
- Present graphic, verbal and written communication in clear, concise and professional manner at all times
- Support the preparation of project contract, code or related legal documents as required
- Maintain positive relations with clients, mechanical, electrical and structural engineers, and vendors
Required Skills / Experience / Qualifications
- Bachelors degree from a CIDA recognized program preferred
- Experience working in Revit, Vectorworks, and InDesign
- Knowledge of the VBBL and BC Building Code
- Familiarity with sustainability, integrated design and guidelines to incorporate integrated sustainable design solutions into projects
