Inspired by purposeful architecture and appreciative of inclusive collaboration, Gerda joined Henriquez Partners in 2022, bringing a diverse perspective and comprehensive skillset to the leadership team. At Henriquez, Gerda is Project Architect for Oakridge’s tallest signature tower, and is actively leading AFRAs and Rezonings in the studio.
Originally from South Africa, Gerda worked in the Johannesburg area and in Dublin, Ireland before relocating to Canada in 2003. Since that time, her experience has included several years running her own architectural services business and 14 years with the architecture firm Musson Cattell Mackey Partnership. As Senior Associate at MCMP, Gerda applied her calm determination to facilitate and enhance project goals as well as engage and empower the team. Her portfolio included significant commercial projects like Vancouver Center II and 155 Water Street, while her primary contribution was managing all phases of numerous complex, mixed-use residential projects across the Lower Mainland and Victoria including Hudson House, Phase D of the King George Hub and 622 SW Marine Drive.
Gerda holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the University of Pretoria, and is an AIBC registered architect and LEED Green Associate.
