Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, Lloyd moved to Vancouver and joined Henriquez in 2021. He brings extensive experience designing, documenting, and managing projects of all types and scales, from high-end single-family residential to large scale urban precincts. As Director and shareholder of Van der Merwe Miszewski Architects for the past 20 years, he was executive architect on Cape Town’s Zeitz MOCAA art museum (Thomas Heatherwick was design architect), and led the team responsible for the multiple buildings in the mixed-use Silo District at the V&A Waterfront. Two of these buildings achieved the highest sustainability rating achievable under the South African GreenStar system. We look forward to Lloyd’s contributions to our studio as he embarks on his new career in Canada. Lloyd is currently working on the West Pender Hotel, M5 Prototype and the Main Alley Campus.
Lloyd holds bachelor degrees in Architectural Studies and Architecture from the University of Cape Town.
