Georgia + Abbott has been recognized with a 2026 Green GOOD DESIGN™ Award for Green Architecture.

This is the 18th year the European Centre for Architecture and Urban Studies Awards, have developed this very specialized edition of the original GOOD DESIGN program, which was founded in Chicago in 1950 by Eero Saarinen and Charles and Ray Eames.

Architecturally inspired by British Columbia’s rare glass sea sponge reefs – ancient living structures embodying resilience and adaptability – the Georgia Street towers express a distinctly Vancouver approach to sustainability and urban beauty through its sculptural form and environmental performance.

The project will achieve Net Zero operations and exceed City of Vancouver embodied carbon targets by more than 54%. Sustainability strategies include geoexchange, photovoltaics, a high-performance envelope, efficient mechanical systems, and an optimized structural design, supporting Vancouver’s goal of becoming the greenest city in the world.
