The Joyce neighbourhood represents one of the most diverse multicultural neighbourhoods in greater Vancouver. The design was born out of an amalgamation of the contemporary and historical context of the site. The quilt represents the diversity and integration of the fabric of this community, while the façade metaphorically references the creek that historically ran through this location. Together, the parti gives this neighbourhood a modern yet nostalgic reinvigoration.
