In the French documentary series Ports d’attache, photographer Heidi Hollinger visits waterfront cities around the world and talks to local leaders in art, design, and innovation about what makes a city tick. In the episode “Vancouver,” Hollinger delves into the city’s unique history and housing challenges. While visiting Woodward’s, she meets with Gregory Henriquez where they discuss the genesis of the project and its diverse program. The combination of market and non-market housing, public space, retail, and a university art campus in the city’s Downtown Eastside make the project a role model for inclusive developments.
