A pioneering, transit-oriented community.
The Brewery District is a master planned complete community in the heart of British Columbia’s oldest urban neighbourhood, and one of the first lower mainland projects that acknowledged the need to densify transit nodes. Adjacent to the Sapperton skytrain station, the new community offers all services necessary to meet resident’s day-to-day needs. The large, mixed-use development spans six blocks and encompasses retail, office space, health services, and a spectrum of residences spanning apartments, lofts, and live/work spaces. These components are served and enlivened by a wide range of amenities, including a daycare, parks, plazas, and view decks.
The master plan meets to LEED Neighbourhood Development standards and incorporates several eco-friendly initiatives, including an innovative alternate energy program. Adjacent to the Royal Columbian Hospital, the community also features a wide range of health services—including community health clinics, ambulatory care, and administrative and educational spaces. A SkyTrain arrivals court, public plazas, tree-lined streets, view decks and green spaces encourage pedestrian activity and integrate the Brewery District in the larger Sapperton neighbourhood. The project has become a catalyst for social and economic rejuvenation drawing retailers, businesses, and residents to the Sapperton neighbourhood.
