Following its recent approval by Vancouver City Council, Georgia + Abbott has been recognized in The 2026 International Architecture Awards in the “Skyscrapers/High Rises” category.

Inspired by BC’s glass sea sponge reefs, the towers express a distinctly Vancouver approach to high-rise design – translating coastal ecology into a vertical urban form. At 595 West Georgia, the hotel tower will rise over 1,000 feet, becoming the tallest building in Western Canada and featuring a publicly accessible observation deck. At 501 West Georgia, the two residential towers will reach 783 and 889 feet, shaping a new skyline at the heart of downtown.

Together, the three sites deliver a mixed-use development that integrates housing, public amenities, hotel uses, and employment space at a major transit node.

About The International Architecture Awards:
Since 2004, the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design, together with the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and Metropolitan Arts Press, Ltd., has organized The International Architecture Awards to honor significant new buildings, landscape architecture, and planning projects by leading architects, landscape architects, and urban planners worldwide. The program offers a global overview of current directions in commercial, corporate, institutional, and residential design.
