Henriquez Partners is excited to announce the expansion of our leadership team with two new Directors for 2021 – Lloyd Rubidge as Director of Architecture, and Kaya Wiggens as Director of Marketing & Business Development.
Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, Lloyd moved to Vancouver to join Henriquez, bringing extensive experience designing, documenting, and managing projects of all types and scales, from high-end single-family residential to large scale urban precincts. Lloyd is currently working on the M5 Prototype and Main Alley Campus project including a mass timber addition, and the 30-storey West Pender hotel in downtown Vancouver. Prior to joining, he was Director and shareholder of Van der Merwe Miszewski Architects for 20 years, leading projects like Cape Town’s Zeitz MOCAA art museum and multiple buildings in the mixed-use Silo District at the V&A Waterfront, (two of these buildings achieved the highest sustainability rating achievable under the South African GreenStar system).
In her role at Henriquez, Kaya is responsible for a range of new business and marketing activities that support the studio’s continued success in existing markets and growth into new markets, including strategic planning, brand building and the pursuit of new project opportunities. Kaya has returned to the studio having previously held this position at Henriquez Partners from 2013–2015. With over 18 years of creative, strategic marketing communications experience in multiple industry verticals and channels, Kaya’s career prior to joining our studio includes almost 9 years working with one of Canada’s leading creative marketing and communications agencies – Cossette – where she led multi-million dollar campaigns for clients like Destination BC and MTS (Manitoba Telecom).
